The NBA Suspends Season "Until Further Notice"

The news broke early this morning UK time, that the National Basket Association would suspend all operations "until further notice" after a Utah Jazz player tested positive for the Coronavirus.

All-Star Centre Rudy Gobert has been confirmed to have the virus, which led the game between the Jazz and Oklahoma City Thunder, to be postponed just before tipoff, the later game between the Sacramento Kings and New Orleans Pelicans, was also postponed after one of the officials, officiated a Jazz game on Monday.

In their statement released at 9:30 pm EST the NBA announced they "will use hiatus to determine next steps for moving forward in regard to the coronavirus pandemic."

The next steps will be taken when the NBA has a conference call with teams and the board of governors at 12:30 pm on Thursday, per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

The league still has 259 games left to play for the regular season schedule to be complete, which is roughly 21% of the season, at this time no one knows at what time things will resume or if they will at all.

The NBA G League announced that it would be following suit and postponed the rest of their season effective from tonight's game.

In the last game before the hiatus the Dallas Mavericks beat the Denver Nuggets 113-97, with Boban Marjanovic dropping a career high 31 points, and a season high 17 rebounds.
