FFS GW25 Preview & Scout XI

Let me just take a quick victory lap for picking Oli Shaw as a differential last gameweek.

Fixtures

Saturday 23rd January

Aberdeen v Motherwell

Rangers v Ross County

Due to the League Cup Semi-Finals we only get two games this week, don't worry though the postponed games have already been rescheduled for the Saturday 30th January, part of a 10-game slate for Gameweek 27.

Aberdeen v Motherwell - Saturday 15:00

The Dons put in a sloppy display last week in the Highlands and Ross County took full advantage. Derek McInnes and his side will be glad to back at Pittodrie this week, having won only one of their last nine away games. Matty Kennedy (3.7) appeared to be one of the few looking to make things happen and probably should have scored in the first half, seeing his shot from point blank range saved.

Motherwell are in a horrendous run of form at the moment, having failed to win in their last 12 games in all competitions, but could a 1-1 draw for Rangers be the result Graham Alexander needed to turn around the fortunes of the Lanarkshire club.

Motherwell won the first game between these sides, a 3-0 win at Pittodrie in Gameweek 8, the reverse fixture in Gameweek 19 ended in a 0-0 draw.

Rangers v Ross County - Saturday 15:00

Steven Gerrard's side dropped points for only the third time this season. All of these have been away from home. They have only conceded one goal at home this season. So despite them not recording a clean sheet in their last two games, there is no reason to worry.

Oli Shaw (4.5) showed the form that led Leeann Dempster to describe him as one of the best young players in Europe. Two well taken goals helped Ross County get a much needed three points.

Rangers have won both of the games between these teams this season. Winning 2-0 at home in GW10 and 4-0 away in GW16. James Tavernier (7.0) has scored in both games.

Scout XI

There isn't many players to pick from this week, the biggest choice was which team only gets two players instead of three. The easy choice was Ross County since they travel to Ibrox.

The Captaincy was between James Tavernier and Borna Barisic. The Englishman got the nod due to advantage of penalties. Which County have conceded a league high 9.

Planning Future Transfers

With so little games, it might be tempting to take a big hit to chase points this week. Don't. Like I mentioned earlier, the other four games are being played really soon, so keeping most of your players allows you to go big in the double gameweek. I am going to try and use this week to set up for future transfers. Celtic players are a must target. They have three straight double gameweeks, in GW27, 28 and 29. Kristoffer Ajer (4.1), Leigh Griffiths (6.3), Callum McGregor (5.2) and David Turnbull (4.7) would be the players to target.
