FFS Gameweek 28 Preview & Scout XI

The run of double gameweeks continue, but how can you get the most out of it?

Fixtures

Saturday 6th February

Celtic v Motherwell

Hibernian v Aberdeen

Livingston v St. Johnstone

Ross County v Dundee United

St. Mirren v Kilmarnock

Sunday 7th February

Hamilton v Rangers

Wednesday 10th February

Livingston v Hamilton

Kilmarnock v Motherwell

St. Mirren v Celtic

Aberdeen

Hibs (A)

Derek McInnes got a whole new front line at the deadline but it didn't bring them any better play against Livingston. The Dons now take on a Hibs team that have found their form again, and have taken over third place. Player to Buy: Fraser Hornby £5.5m

Celtic

Motherwell (H) & St. Mirren (A)

Albian Ajeti is facing a two ban if Celtic's appeal on Monday fails. The SFA handed out a retrospective ban adjudging him to dive for Celtic's penalty against Kilmarnock. The ban looks like it should be overturned, but who knows anymore with the SFA. With this potential roulette wheel up front, I would stay away from both Griffiths and Ajeti. Celtic haven't really improved defensively highlighted by this great twitter thread by @BhoysAnalytics, the 4-0 win papered over the cracks. But these cracks could rear their ugly head again this weekend. Player to Buy: Stephen Welsh £2m

Dundee United

Ross County (A)

Micky Mellon's side haven't won in eight league matches, losing their last three games. They are the lowest scoring side in the league, with only 21 goals in 27 games. Ross County provide a good chance to turn that form around, conceding the joint most goals in league, 51, and the most goals from corners, 11.

Player to Buy: Adrian Sporle £2.4m

Hamilton

Rangers (H) & Livingston (A)

After Ross County came back to secure a late 2-1 on Wednesday night, Hamilton are starting to be cut adrift at the bottom of the table, and with games against champions elect Rangers and red hot Livi, it doesn't seem like they'll get any closer.

Player to Buy: Scott McMann £2.4m

Hibernian

Aberdeen (H)

Jack Ross made a bold call benching Kevin Nisbet and Ryan Porteous in both games last week, this came after the two were subject to million pound bids. The gamble worked for Ross as his side picked up all six points. Now all the transfer speculation is over, Nisbet should return to the starting line-up.

Player to Buy: Jackson Irvine £4.3m

Kilmarnock

St. Mirren (A) & Motherwell (H)

At half-time last week, you would have been forgiven for thinking that Chris Burke was back. An early goal against St. Johnstone and he was seeing a lot of the ball. The second half killed any of those thoughts. His final ball was extremely lacking, as Kilmarnock threw away a 2-0 lead.

Player to Buy: Aaron Tshibola £3.8m

Livingston

St. Johnstone (H) & Hamilton (H)

David Martindale's side are unstoppable at the moment. 14 games in and they still haven't lost. The issue for them is the injury to Jon Guthrie, he was injured in the warm-up on Tuesday night and could be a last minute decision. Livingston have beat St. Johnstone both times this season, if they win today, it will be the first time they've beat an opponent three times in the top flight since 2003-04.

Player to Buy: Nicky Devlin £2.7m

Motherwell

Celtic (A) & Kilmarnock (A)

Devante Cole is on fire, the striker has four goals and one assist in his last five games, and at only 1.6% ownership he is a great differential pick. The former Manchester City youth player has found a new lease of life under Graham Alexander and has helped to fire his side up the table, and with another double gameweek in GW30, he is one to bring into your team.

Player to Buy: Devante Cole £4.1m

Rangers

Hamilton (A)

Steven Gerrard has now reached a century of wins with Rangers, and he should make it 101 against Brian Rice's side this Sunday. This should be any easy game for them, and the only issue on the Horizon for them will be Kemar Roofe's potential ban after his challenge on Murray Davidson.

Player to Buy: Borna Barisic £4.5m

Ross County

Dundee United (H)

John Hughes' quadruple substitution changed the game against Hamilton, and gave a four point cushion over Hamilton at the bottom of the table. The Dingwall side will now be looking to get out of the doomed playoff place.

Player to Buy: Jermaine Hylton £3.4m

St. Johnstone

Livingston (A) It is a cup final dress rehearsal at the Tony Macaroni Arena. Callum Davidson's side are a lot better goalscoring wise away from McDiarmid Park. 20 of their 25 goals have come on their travels. Before their trip to Ibrox in midweek, Saints were unbeaten in six matches. David Wotherspoon should return from the injury that held him out against Rangers.

Player to Buy: Guy Melamed £4.9m

St. Mirren

Kilmarnock (H) & Celtic (H)

Jim Goodwin's side have the chance to beat Celtic twice in a ten day span. Two home games are an issue, only ten points and nine goals at home this season, compared to nineteen points and fifteen goals on the road. Their first opponent Kilmarnock have lost their last four games and enter the game lacking confidence.

Player to Buy: Jamie McGrath £3.6m

Scout XI

Despite Celtic's poor defensive play, it stills feels difficult to pass over one of their players in a double gameweek.

Triple Rangers defence is an easy pick despite them not having a double gameweek. Every game feels like a guaranteed clean sheet, and I'm not one to pass up seven easy points.

Livi's seemingly endless run of double gameweeks has meant Max Stryjek has become a great fantasy asset and Nicky Devlin gets the nod over Jon Guthrie due to his knock.

Last week's Scout XI only got 78 points, as vice-captain Kevin Nisbet was benched for both games.
