2020 F1 Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed

Juss Sports Group, who are the promoters of the Chinese Grand Prix, have officially requested the event be postponed, after discussions with the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of People's Republic of China (CAMF) and Shanghai Administration of Sports.

This is due to the ongoing concern over the coronavirus, especially after the World Health Organisation declared it to be a global health emergency. F1 along with its governing body the FIA have decided to accept the postponement request.

Formula 1, in a statement said "The Chinese Grand Prix has always been a very important part of the F1 calendar and the fans are always incredible" "We all look forward to racing in China as soon as possible and wish everyone in the country the best during this difficult time."

The race had been scheduled for the 17th-19th of April and would have been the fourth race on the calendar. The announcement now calls into question whether or not the inaugural race in Vietnam will go ahead, which is scheduled for two weeks earlier.
